Door 21: The Wisdom Story

Survivors gather in a circle, sharing stories that transform pain into power. Each voice is a light in the dark, illuminating new paths and hope-filled futures. You may choose to listen deeply, learning from their experience, or help write a new chapter of courage and healing for others to follow.

Listen closely, Door 9.

Write a new chapter, Door 10.

Survivor Poem –

Instructions for Walking Out

Go slowly,
if you need to.
Go quickly,
if you can.

Take with you
what matters most:
your documents,
your medicines,
your child’s favourite teddy,
the phone numbers of people
who say “I believe you.”

Leave behind
their voice in your head
telling you that you can’t.

You owe them nothing.
You owe yourself everything.

When your legs feel weak,
remember:
they are still moving.

Every step away
from what hurt you
is a step towards
what you have not yet met—

a room where your laughter
does not make anyone angry,
a bed that belongs to your rest,
a future that does not ask
for your pain as payment.

You do not walk alone.
Other survivors
have left footprints
in this road.

Put your feet in ours
until you trust your own.
