Our House: Who Killed Eve?
A Choose Your Own Adventure Murder Mystery
Our House: Who Killed Eve? is an immersive, 3D MDF “advent‑calendar‑style” house that invites visitors to step inside a murder mystery – and discover that the real question is not just who killed Eve, but what. Through 25 interactive doors, participants move through rooms of evidence, headlines, interviews and everyday conversations, exploring how victim‑blaming, rape myths and centuries‑old stories about “dangerous women” shape the way we talk about violence today.
Developed by Nine Red Presents CIC with support from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the installation combines story, sound, poetry and visual clues. Each door reveals a short scene or fragment: text messages, social media comments, case notes, dinner‑table gossip, courtroom questions. Visitors choose their own path through the house, scanning QR codes to hear different voices and then pausing at gentle prompt cards that ask: What did you notice? Who did you believe first? What assumptions did you make about Eve?
Who Killed Eve? is not a whodunnit with a single villain. It is a guided space to notice how language, culture and systems can put survivors on trial and quietly protect those who cause harm. Workshops and facilitated sessions around the installation support participants – professionals and community members alike – to reflect on their responses, connect the story to real‑world practice, and consider what might need to change in themselves, their organisations and their communities.
A trauma‑informed approach sits at the heart of Our House: Who Killed Eve?. The content is carefully signposted, participation is by choice at every stage, and clear pathways to support are built in.
